Who this course is for

Office staff, accountants, analysts, students and anyone who uses Excel at work and wants to be faster at it. You should know the basics: entering data, simple formulas like SUM, and saving files.

You do not need to know advanced formulas or programming. That is exactly what the AI will help you with.

If you have never used an AI assistant before, take AI for Everyone first.

What you will learn

  • How to describe your spreadsheet so the AI gives formulas that actually work
  • How to get a formula written for you, and how to check it properly
  • How to understand and fix formulas someone else wrote
  • How to clean messy names, dates and duplicates in minutes
  • How to use XLOOKUP and INDEX/MATCH with AI help
  • How to build pivot tables, summaries and charts with AI as your guide
  • How to get simple VBA macros written safely, and test them

What you need

  • Microsoft Excel (Excel for Microsoft 365 is best; Excel 2016 or later works for most lessons)
  • Any AI assistant: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or Microsoft Copilot
  • A sample spreadsheet to practise on. Use your own data with private details removed, or make up a small table

How to take this course

Each lesson takes 10 to 15 minutes and ends with a practice task in Excel. Keep Excel and your AI assistant open side by side.

One rule for the whole course: the AI writes, you check. Every formula and macro gets tested on your data before you rely on it.
